Sketch a day keeps the mind alight

It’s been too long that I’ve been browsing other ladies and gents blogs. The inspiration overload has been great. But it has also left me behind in posting some of my own progress.

This might not be much but it’s some of the loose sketches I’ve been doing lately. More stylized and loose than my more rigid style I’ve been working with in the past.

I’ve been drawing most of my inspiration from the the Anime movie Tekkon Kinkreet. Obviously it’s not as loose. I just love the energy and movement of the characters.

For a few nights I was being very diligent with daring for atleast 2 hours in between other freelance. Trying to focus on female heads. I used reference at time, but I found the characters I drew without I actually prefer.

I got a Human Anatomy for Artists for Christmas from my gorgeous lady. Excellent book, I’ve only started. I’ve been drawing for so long and it’s something I’ve always said I’d learn, but you know how it goes you just want to get straight into the drawing. Learning sucks – right?

I have been trying to plug away at those books… but i just want to get to a space where I can illustrate what is in my head… but then i guess learning is part of the fun. The reward of getting it right.
