I AM GROOT

CHILDREN’S BOOK

Animated scene of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, including Groot standing in front of Rocket, Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Mantis, and other characters, in a futuristic city with flying ships and vibrant lighting.
A digital illustration of a battle scene in a city involving a giant tree creature with an angry face, fighting against armed individuals on both sides. The tree creature has large branches and a trunk with expressive eyes and a mouth, tearing apart parts of a building. Two armed characters, one using dual large guns and another with a sword, engage the creature, while others on both sides are falling or flying through the air amidst explosions and debris.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

I was very stoked to work on a book involving the entire Guardians of the Galaxy squad. I’m a huge fan of the movies, and I adore the characters. Quarto Publishing asked me to create the art for a children's book focusing on various moments with Groot. As we know now, “I am Groot” means very different things when Groot speaks, and this book shows that off in a few quirky and lovable ways with his odd intergalactic family.
